MAPLEWOOD, NY – The Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) announced on February 16, 2007 that Comfortex Window Fashions, a worldwide leader in the custom window fashions industry, has been recognized with two awards from their 2007 Product Innovation Awards Competition. This brings the total number of WCMA Awards Comfortex has earned in the past seven years to 35.
In the Shutter Category, Comfortex received the Best New Style Concept Award for Woodwinds® SuperNatural™ Woodtone Shutters. Woodwinds SuperNatural Woodtone Shutters showcase an exclusive state-of-the-art color process which creates realistic wood grain patterns for a look that rivals 100% wood and a resilient surface that withstands scratches, scuffs and moisture. Available in several popular stain colors, Woodwinds SuperNatural Woodtone Shutters blend with virtually all types of woodwork for a complementary look without the maintenance.
Comfortex was also awarded an Honorable Mention for the Best New Technical Innovation in the Alternative Shading Category. Fusion™ Blends Insulating Roman Panel Shades combine designer fabric drapery panels with an integrated double cell liner for fashionable beauty and substantial, draft blocking capabilities. Furthermore, the Fusion Blends option allows homeowners to mix and match alternating fabrics within a single window covering for a completely customized look.
“These awards confirm our continuing commitment to strengthen and grow our company through constant innovation and continuous improvement,” said Comfortex Window Fashions President Thomas J. Marusak. “Further, I fully anticipate that the two products for which we received these awards are game changers that will quickly propel us to leadership positions in the product categories of interior plantation shutters and insulating Roman shades.”
The WCMA Product Innovation Awards Competition is open to all manufacturers and suppliers of window coverings in the United States and Canada to recognize significant advancements in the window covering industry. These WCMA Product Innovation Awards were presented to Comfortex at a ceremony in Washington, DC in conjunction with the International Window Covering Expo on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Washington Convention Center.
